85% of single parent households are mothers. 23% of children in America are being raised by single mothers. The vast majority of these households are living at or below poverty level which creates a cycle of survival rather than living and thriving.
The Mustard Seed Project provides extensive, long term care, for these families, enabling single mothers to break free of besetting spiritual, relational, financial and physical patters which have kept them bound.

How are we different from other assisting agencies?
Many agencies offer emergency help which, while helpful for a present need, does not address root issues which will continue to drive. It takes time, education as well as stable long term support, to break old patterns of thinking and behaving. Oftentimes care for single parent households has been fragmented rather than integrative family care. As well, oftentimes therapy is man-centered rather than Christ centred. Only through Christ can there be spiritual healing for individuals and families.
How can you help?
Our greatest need is financial and prayer support. Many of the families with whom we are working have had long entrenched battles with ex-spouses whether it be lack of paying child support, of various forms of physical and emotional abuse, or continued harassment. Taking such cases before a judge is the only way to create strong legal boundaries of protection for the women and children. Through paying for legal representation we have begun to see many of these oppressive bonds broken.
