One noticeable trait of the single mothers who are with the Mustard Seed is they are willing to do whatever is needed to provide for the protect their children.  We call them women of grit.  A couple of weeks ago one of the mothers earned the Woman of Grit Award.

Her baby was barely a week old. Older son had just left to catch the school bus.  Mother placed her infant in the baby carrier in the living room and walked back into the bedroom when she saw this large snake crawling out of the closet toward her. 

She first cut off the tail which merely resulted in a large loss of blood.  She then remembered her son has a blow gut he sometimes used for target practice back in the yard.  Mind you she had never used a blow gun in her life.  But buddy she fired three times, hitting the target perfectly each time.

Today we were discussing this amazing feat with mother and son, while baby soundly slept in mother’s arms.  Mother wondered how it was she could have shot so perfectly when never having used a blow gun in her life.  Son said, “and how is it that I never hit the target after so much practice?”

I believe it is the power of a mother’s love and the precision sharp favor of the Lord that manifested.  This mother’s prayers are always that she and her children will be protected.

Eve was deceived by a snake in the Garden of Eden.  The women of the Mustard Seed have been deceived as well in their journey.  An important piece of their personal work is to begin targeting the lies they have believed and exchange for the truth.  They realize this not only for their wellbeing but their children as well.

There have been many a lie slain in these households by these women of grit.  “There is no greater joy than to see my children walking in truth” says the apostle John.
